Job summary

GCR Professional Services is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Norwood, MA to join our team for a 6-month contract with potential temp-to-perm. The role focuses on analog, mixed-signal, power, and digital electronics design to address production issues and customer challenges.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of PCB-level design experience with MCU/FPGA-based systems, plus strong troubleshooting skills and lab expertise. A background in EMC and safety standards is valued.

Qualifications

• A BS in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of direct PCB-level design experience.
• Experience with MCU/FPGA based systems containing mixed signal, interface and power conversion circuitry.
• Solid problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as an enthusiastic, accountable team member.
• Proficiency with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies and multimeters.
• Working knowledge of PCB design tools (OrCAD Capture, PADS or Allegro).
• Familiarity with EMC, Electrical Safety and Functional Safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Design PCB-level mixed analog/digital, interface and power electronic circuits to meet product specification and cost requirements.
• Create BOMs, schematics, drawings and ECOs using PLM tools to document production-ready designs.
• Perform and document engineering analyses, write test plans and specifications.
• Conduct performance and design verification tests and author test reports.
• Provide input for datasheets, user guides and application notes.
• Plan and conduct compliance and reliability testing.
• Provide engineering support to resolve production and customer technical issues.
