Job summary

GPC Motion seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to deliver CAD designs, electrical specifications, product configuration, and BOMs for Value Added projects aligned with customer specs and strategy.

You will collaborate with sales, purchasing and production, develop design standards, and may serve as site MTR for UL certification. A bachelor’s degree and 1–3 years in electrical engineering are typical requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
• 1–3 years of electrical engineering experience.
• Experience in design, detailing, CAD, and machine design.
• Experience working with UL 508a standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with sales staff for final quote preparation and delivery to client.
• Provides field support as needed.
• Develops and interprets electrical system concepts.
• Schedules production of jobs in collaboration with the other department staff to meet deadlines.
• Develops Bills of Materials including product pricing, labor estimates and estimated delivery date.
• Collaborates with purchasing team to ensure adequate supplies of inventory and components.
• Ensures design and related documentation are updated to reflect any changes, or improvements discovered during the production process.
• Assists with process documentation and support manufacturing operations.
• Develops and implements electrical design standards.
• Lead training for department staff on electrical design standards.
• Creates/modifies CAD drawings (including detailing upon receipt of the order) according to client requests and design specifications.
• Willingness to serve as site Manufacturer Technical Representative (MTR) for UL certification.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
