Job summary

AIRCO is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer in New Britain, PA to design electrical systems for machine building. You will develop diagrams, lay out electrical panels, perform load calculations, and write specifications while partnering with mechanical and control engineers to deliver integrated solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 10 years in electrical design, and a strong safety mindset in a dynamic startup environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10 years of experience in electrical design and panel layout for machine building applications (OEMs).
• Solid understanding of control and instrumentation engineering fundamentals.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent electrical design software.
• Comfortable in a dynamic startup environment where priorities shift and you own the outcome.
• Strong commitment to personal and process safety.
• Ability to work onsite in New Britain, PA at least three days per week.
• Chemical industry and/or hazardous environment experience.
• Understanding of state and federal code selection and regulations.
• Plant troubleshooting or maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop single line and three line diagrams for new and existing systems.
• Design and lay out electrical panels.
• Perform electrical load calculations and size electrical equipment, and write equipment specifications.
• Perform cable sizing, routing design, and calculations, and write cable specifications.
• Design safety systems, including emergency stop (E-STOP) circuits.
• Generate bills of materials to support procurement and fabrication.
• Partner closely with mechanical, process, and controls engineers to integrate electrical design across the full system.
