Job summary

Preferred Utilities Manufacturing Corp. in Danbury, CT seeks an Electrical Engineer or Electrical Draftsman for panel design. Entry to midlevel position focusing on wiring diagrams, panel components selection, and system integration within a customer budget.

Collaborates with project managers, systems engineers, and mechanical designers to deliver packaged solutions. The candidate should have 4-year electrical engineering education and experience with AutoCAD or DraftSight; strong communication

Qualifications

• 4-year electrical engineering degree.
• AutoCAD or DraftSight experience required.
• Experience with electrical assembly preferred.
• Experience being measured against monthly goals.
• Strong Microsoft Office experience.
• A desire to continuously improve.
• Familiarity with burner management systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with construction drawings and specifications.
• Good communication skills.
• Good time management is a must.
• Self-starting and PRIDE in work.

Responsibilities

• Design Development from Proposal to finished Engineering Package.
• Use AutoCAD to create wiring diagrams and enclosure layouts.
• Perform basic electrical component calculations to determine panel design.
• Research components and create Bills of Materials for their designs.
• Review customer specification documents to ensure compliance.
• Interpret and adhere to applicable codes and standards.
• Assist applications engineer to generate proposals.
• Slight travel for meetings and site visits 10%.
