Job summary

Air Comfort, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Designer to create detailed electrical drawings and layouts for control panels and finishing systems.

You will prepare schematics in AutoCAD, develop component layouts, and calculate load currents using Excel, ensuring designs meet specifications and safety requirements. You will collaborate with project managers, controls engineers, and field staff to resolve issues, revise drawings, and track time and material usage.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of electrical design or drafting experience.
• 2–4 years of drafting and design experience, preferably using AutoCAD.
• Strong foundation in electrical theory, circuit design, power systems, and safety regulations.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare detailed electrical drawings and schematics in AutoCAD for finishing systems projects.
• Develop layouts and designs for control panels, including interior and exterior components, ensuring fitment and functionality.
• Calculate total load amp current for main control panels and processes using Excel based on motor horsepower.
• Produce 2D AutoCAD drawings and bills of materials.
• Review project specifications and drawings to ensure compliance and inform component design.
• Modify designs to address deficiencies or production issues.
• Coordinate with vendors to acquire items and materials for projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, controls engineers, supervisors, and field personnel to clarify requirements and troubleshoot issues.
• Track engineering time and material purchases against estimates.
• Prepare illustrations and documentation for manuals and maintenance references.
• Document information, positioning instructions, and comments on drawings.
• Attend project meetings and field measurements as needed.
• Support miscellaneous engineering tasks as assigned.
