Qualifications

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer, P.E. to join our team and provide electrical engineering leadership for complex industrial, manufacturing, heavy industrial, and specialty chemical projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level electrical engineer who enjoys working on challenging industrial facilities, developing power distribution systems, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, and supporting projects from concept and design through construction.

The successful candidate will lead electrical engineering efforts, develop and coordinate medium- and low-voltage electrical systems, provide technical guidance to engineers and designers, and work directly with clients, vendors, contractors, and project management teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical engineering activities for industrial, manufacturing, heavy industrial, and specialty chemical projects
  • Develop designs for medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems
  • Perform electrical calculations, engineering evaluations, and equipment sizing
  • Size and specify transformers, generators, and related electrical equipment
  • Apply requirements of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable API recommended practices
  • Apply sound electrical grounding and bonding practices
  • Coordinate hazardous area classification studies and develop associated technical reports
  • Develop and review electrical engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation
  • Lead and coordinate the workflow of engineers, electrical designers, and drafters
  • Support engineering work performed across multiple office locations
  • Coordinate integrated electrical designs with other engineering disciplines using tools such as Navisworks
  • Interact directly with clients, vendors, contractors, and project teams
  • Manage changes in project scope and identify potential technical and project risks
  • Work with Discipline Managers and Project Managers to develop practical contingency plans and solutions
  • Support construction activities, including:
  • Field verification
  • Site observations
  • Field reports
  • RFI responses
  • Construction coordination
  • Provide technical leadership and engineering support throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure electrical designs meet applicable codes, standards, client requirements, and project specifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent degree from an accredited university preferred
  • Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required
  • Demonstrated experience in the architectural/engineering (A/E) industry
  • Strong experience supporting projects in one or more of the following:
  • Specialty chemicals
  • Heavy industrial
  • Manufacturing
  • Industrial facilities and process environments
  • Demonstrated experience with medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems
  • Experience sizing and specifying transformers and generators
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC requirements
  • Familiarity with API recommended practices
  • Knowledge of electrical grounding practices
  • Experience with or understanding of hazardous area classification
  • Experience utilizing AutoCAD and Revit
  • Experience coordinating integrated multidisciplinary designs using Navisworks or similar coordination tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams and coordinate project deliverables

  • Ability and willingness to travel to client and project sites as required
  • Ability and willingness to work onsite when project requirements dictate
  • Ability and willingness to climb elevated platforms using plant stairs and ladders at client sites
  • Ability to work effectively in industrial and manufacturing environments

We are seeking a P.E.-licensed Senior Electrical Engineer who can provide both technical expertise and project leadership in an industrial A/E environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial power systems, manufacturing, heavy industrial, or specialty chemical facilities, along with the ability to lead design efforts, work directly with clients and contractors, and support projects through construction.

Exceptional candidates located outside the Augusta, SC area may be considered for a remote arrangement, provided they are willing and able to travel to project sites as required.
