Job summary

Leonardo DRS is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for our Menomonee Falls, WI team. This onsite role focuses on designing, analyzing, documenting and supporting testing of electrical products and subsystems for naval power systems.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of design experience and solid knowledge of power electronics, power distribution, circuit board design, and semiconductors. Relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; plus at least 8 years in design and product development.
Knowledge of power electronics, power distribution, circuit board design, and/or semiconductors highly preferred.
Motivated and engaged; comfortable in a team environment but able to work independently when needed.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems
Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in existing products or systems and make modifications as needed
Compile and evaluate design and test data
Analyze, develop, and recommend design approaches
May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in performing assignments
Provide regular reporting of progress and status
Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services
Develop prototypes to retire key development risks as directed
