Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in GIS/GIS switchgear to join our Wendell, NC team. You will analyze customer specs and one-line diagrams to develop cost‑effective MV switchgear solutions, leading projects from concept through manufacturing.

Relocation assistance is available. Your responsibilities include creating technical documents, diagrams, and bills of materials, while providing factory and service support to ensure design fidelity and successful delivery.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Four to seven+ years of experience designing or configuring MV switchgear.
Knowledge of protection and control technologies in MV distribution products.
Ability to interpret customer specifications and apply suitable product solutions.
Experience with electrical drafting software (AutoCAD Electrical, Engineering Base, ELCAD).
Ability to read one-line diagrams and evaluate electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

Create engineering documents for customer approval and manufacturing of MV switchgear.
Use Siemens switchgear configurator to prepare diagrams and BOMs.
Lead a team of engineers, designers, and drafters on projects.
Provide factory and service support to ensure design integrity.
