Job summary

Siemens in Wendell, NC is seeking a hybrid Electrical Engineer specialized in GIS switchgear to translate customer requirements into high-quality MV switchgear designs. You will develop one-line diagrams, protection concepts, and BOMs using Siemens configurator tools while leading technical deliverables and supporting manufacturing and field teams.

Ideal candidates have 1–4+ years of MV switchgear experience, solid drafting tool skills, and a degree in Electrical Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 1–4+ years of experience designing or configuring MV switchgear.
• Experience with electrical drafting tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, Engineering Base, ELCAD.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Developing complete engineering documentation for customer approval and MV switchgear manufacturing.
• Creating accurate one‑line diagrams, control schematics, and bills of material using Siemens engineering configurator tool.
• Owning technical deliverables as a project engineering lead, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely execution.
• Supporting manufacturing, service teams, and customers to ensure designs are built and delivered as intended.
• Collaborating to resolve technical issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Having a desire to grow your knowledge in the power systems engineering field with the support of an experienced team.
