ON.energy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – Battery Systems, Controls & EMS Integration to lead design, validation, and optimization of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System projects supporting next-generation data centers and grid applications. You will drive battery sizing, technology evaluation, and EMS/Plant Controller integration in a highly collaborative energy storage team.
Reporting to the Chief Electrical Engineer, you will leverage Python, PSCAD and MATLAB for analyses,

Location: Tysons, VA / Atlanta, GA / Miami, FL / East Coast
Schedule: Hybrid in Tysons (or) regular visits to Tysons if East Coast
Travel: 25-30% required travel (outside of travel to Tysons)
As a Senior Electrical Engineer – Battery Systems, Controls & EMS Integration, you will provide technical leadership for the design, validation, and optimization of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects supporting next-generation data center and grid applications. Reporting to the Chief Electrical Engineer, you will lead battery sizing, evaluate BESS technologies, validate inverter/PCS performance, and drive the integration of EMS, Plant Controllers, and SCADA systems to ensure reliable, high-performing energy storage solutions. This is a highly collaborative role that combines advanced engineering analysis, controls expertise, and operational optimization to shape the future of large-scale energy infrastructure.
