Job summary

Pentair is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for the Delavan, WI site. You will own the selection, specification, validation, and lifecycle support of electric motors and VFDs used on Water Supply and Water Disposal pumps, collaborating with product management, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and testing teams to deliver robust products.

The role requires 8-10+ years of product engineering experience, hands-on lab and manufacturing floor activity, and a passion for mentoring others

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• 8-10+ years of progressively responsible product engineering experience.
• Experience leading complex product development projects with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated interest in technical leadership and broader organizational impact.
• Strong understanding of product/system integration, manufacturing processes, and field applications.
• Experience with structured new product development processes (e.g., stage-gate).
• Demonstrated expertise in one or more technical domains relevant to the product portfolio.
• Experience working with suppliers, contract manufacturers, or external development partners.
• Prior involvement in patent or IP development.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction of motors and VFDs for WSWD pumps and lead product development from concept to launch.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across product management, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and marketing.
• Lead design reviews and DFMEA/xFMEA activities and stage-gate processes.
• Define verification, validation, and reliability testing strategies.
• Analyze test data and field feedback to improve designs and ensure long-term performance.
• Contribute to IP development and consider freedom-to-operate requirements.
• Mentor engineers and promote a strong technical culture.
