KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR A SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER - MEP:
- Serve as the Engineer of Record, signing and sealing system drawings for assigned projects
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team, conducting design reviews
- Design and engineer systems through calculations, single-line diagrams, component sizing, short-circuit analysis, and technical specifications
- Review project work to ensure compliance with standards, client requirements, and budgets
- Oversee the design, layout, and verification of electrical system drawings in accordance with codes
- Conduct site surveys, attend pre-bid meetings, and support on-site construction as needed
- Implement training and development initiatives for engineers, designers, and draftspersons
- Collaborate with project managers on proposals, client management, and project execution
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER - MEP:
- BS or MS in Electrical or Architectural Engineering
- 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering and building system design
- Experience in new construction and renovations for corporate, healthcare, and mission-critical facilities
- Proficiency with Autodesk, AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM
- Load calculations and software skills such as Etap or Capper/Dapper
- Experience with UPS systems, generators, and switchgear specifications
- Knowledge of infrastructure for commercial and data centers
- Ability to lead, mentor, and conduct field surveys and administration
- Extensive knowledge of electrical codes and standards
- Experience with lighting and load analysis software
- Strong time management, adaptability, communication, and technical writing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Expertise in designing and overseeing systems, including:
- Power distribution
- Lighting and controls
- Fire alarm systems
- Electrical studies (short circuit, coordination, arc flash)
- Lightning protection
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is strongly preferred. Familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD is expected. Knowledge of the USGBC LEED Rating System is a plus. Apply now! We look forward to hearing from you!
