Job summary

Merz North America, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead hardware and embedded firmware development for medical devices. You will design mixed-signal PCBs, implement firmware in C/C++, and work hands-on in the lab to prototype, test and validate systems.

You will collaborate closely with hardware/software teams and external partners to meet performance, regulatory and cost targets, ensuring robust verification and documentation throughout product lifecycles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or related field and 5+ years in medical device or regulated environment.
  • 7+ years in mixed-signal FPGA/board-level designs and firmware exposure.
  • Experience with IEC 60601, EMC and safety standards is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, development and verification of hardware and embedded firmware for medical devices.
  • Develop system requirements and architectures; execute verification plans and risk analyses.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to meet regulatory, timeline and cost targets.
  • Mentor junior engineers and ensure design controls and SOPs are followed.
