Job summary

Insight Global's client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical engineering efforts for electromechanical medical devices in a global manufacturing environment.

The role requires hands-on product development experience, strong understanding of electrical systems and manufacturing processes, and collaboration with customers, manufacturing, quality, and sourcing teams across locations including China and Vietnam. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 5–10+ years in electrical engineering, product development or manufacturing.
• Experience with electromechanical medical devices is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
• Familiarity with DFM/ DFA and manufacturing transfers.
• Experience in FDA-regulated medical device development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary electrical engineering contact for customers and manufacturing partners.
• Support design, development, and manufacturing of electromechanical medical devices.
• Review electrical schematics, drawings, specs, and customer requirements.
• Lead technical discussions on electrical systems, component selection, and manufacturability.
• Support NPI launches and manufacturing transfers.
• Collaborate with quality, sourcing, and supply chain teams to resolve issues.
• Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Drive DFx initiatives to improve quality, cost, and scalability.
• Coordinate with suppliers and offshore teams to meet specs and standards.
• Assist with costing, sourcing decisions, and feasibility assessments.
• Communicate project status and engineering recommendations to stakeholders.
• Travel internationally to support manufacturing operations and launches.
