Job summary

LAPORTE in West Chester, PA is seeking an Electrical Engineer to develop coordinated electrical construction packages for pharmaceutical and food & beverage manufacturing projects. You will connect facility power distribution, lighting and lightning protection with process equipment, utilities and HVAC, coordinating interfaces from design through installation and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• 4+ years of electrical power-system design experience in manufacturing or consulting environments.
• Experience producing coordinated construction and bid packages including client coordination and cost estimates.
• Working knowledge of facility electrical distribution, LV/MV distribution equipment and lighting design.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and prepare coordinated bid and construction packages with calculations, drawings, equipment specs, schedules and cost estimates.
• Develop and maintain process-equipment, utility and HVAC load lists; coordinate vendor data and power requirements.
• Design facility power distribution and lighting; specify conductors, protection, switchgear and related equipment.
• Coordinate physical network and equipment connections with controls engineers and vendors; cabling and pathways.
• Coordinate fire-alarm, lighting-control, security interfaces with disciplines and vendors.
• Conduct site surveys and provide electrical support during installation, testing and commissioning.
• Plan design activities, coordinate clients and suppliers, review deliverables and mentor project team.
• Develop AutoCAD/Revit deliverables and ensure codes and standards compliance.
