RT Patterson Company in Pittsburgh, PA seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer/Department Manager to design and implement heavy industrial electrical systems. This full-time role prefers a PE and ABET-accredited degree with 5–8 years of experience.

Hybrid work: 3 days in the office, 2 days remote. Responsibilities include LV/MV systems design, field investigations, NEC/IEEE compliance, ETAP/SKM usage, and creating specifications and drawings while managing budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited school.
• 5–8 years of relevant work experience; internship/co-op experience acceptable.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• Knowledge of NEC and IEEE standards.
• Proficient in design and calculation software.
• Proven expertise as an electrical engineer.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, or improve electrical systems for heavy industrial facilities.
• Conduct field investigations and assessments.
• Develop LV/MV power systems, instrumentation, and controls designs.
• Utilize ETAP/SKM for power system analysis.
• Prepare specifications and drawings; manage budgets and schedules.
• Coordinate with customers, engineers, and technicians; supervise project team members.
• Ensure compliance with codes and customer requirements.
