Job summary

Superior, based in Columbus, Ohio, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead design-build deliverables from concept through construction. The role reports to the Director of Engineering and is based at our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years in consulting engineering or electrical construction, with strong knowledge of NFPA, NEC, NFPA 70E, and power system studies; PE Ohio certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience in consulting engineering or electrical construction.
• PE Ohio certification is a bonus.
• Experience with NFPA, NEC, NFPA 70E and other applicable codes and standards.
• Experience in preparing power system studies (Short Circuit, Coordination, Arc Flash).
• Experience in mission critical, healthcare, industrial, or commercial sectors.
• Experience in heat calculations and MV cable pulls.

Responsibilities

• Produce engineering deliverables including drawings and specifications.
• Review construction documents for constructability, design improvements, value engineering, and scope gaps.
• Lead design-build pursuits/projects by creating scope of work, schedule, and budget.
• Create energization and electrical performance methods and procedures.
• Assist with equipment testing and energization; complete root cause analysis.
• Interface with field teams, VDC, Estimating and Prefabrication.
• Coordinate with owners, construction managers, and design professionals.
• Interface with product manufacturers, distributors, repair, and testing companies.
• Provide construction support with field observations and RFIs.
• Identify and produce design enhancement studies.
• Perform and review electrical power system studies and heat calculations.
