Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university is required.
• Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain licensure via reciprocity is preferred.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible electrical engineering experience is required.
• Experience designing electrical systems for commercial, institutional, municipal, healthcare, higher education, or industrial facilities.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and electrical design codes is expected.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary design projects and coordinating with clients, architects, contractors, and internal teams.
• Ability to develop complete electrical design packages including drawings, specifications, calculations, and construction-phase support.
• Strong communication, organization, writing, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, budgets, and client expectations.
• Valid driver’s license and travel to client sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering projects through planning, design, documentation, bidding, construction administration, and closeout.
• Serve as the primary electrical engineering contact for clients, architects, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Design electrical systems for power distribution, lighting, emergency power, grounding, and related facilities.
• Prepare and review drawings, specifications, calculations, reports, and cost opinions.
• Develop and evaluate distribution systems including service entrances, switchboards, transformers, and feeders.
• Perform short circuit, arc flash, voltage drop, load, and related studies.
• Provide technical leadership and quality control for deliverables.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers through project execution.
• Coordinate electrical design with mechanical, structural, architectural, controls, and process teams.
• Conduct site visits, field investigations, condition assessments, and commissioning support as needed.
• Support proposal development, scope definition, planning, budgeting, scheduling, and client communication.
• Maintain knowledge of NEC, NFPA, energy codes, and facility-specific requirements.
