Job summary

BKV Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Chicago, IL or Dallas, TX, to lead electrical design for multi-family, commercial, and civic projects. This role requires a PE license and a minimum of 10 years of focused electrical building systems experience.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams, and guide QA/QC across electrical deliverables while engaging with clients and authorities to drive design excellence.

Qualifications

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 10+ years of electrical building systems design experience.
• Proficient in Autodesk Revit for electrical design and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project design criteria to engineer compliant, energy-efficient power, lighting, and life-safety systems.
• Execute and oversee electrical engineering calculations, system models, and construction doc sets.
• Coordinate electrical design with architecture, structural, mechanical, and project management teams.
• Support construction administration by reviewing submittals and responding to RFIs.
• Provide technical mentorship and career guidance to project engineers and junior staff.
• Establish and maintain firm-wide electrical design standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with leadership to perform QA/QC reviews across deliverables.
• Communicate project status and engineering options clearly to clients and stakeholders.
