Job summary

Advantage Technical in Houston, TX is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for energy storage, hybrid power, and industrial power systems from concept through commissioning.

Ideal candidate has 5+ years in electrical engineering, CAD tool expertise, and knowledge of NEC/NFPA/IEEE standards. PE license preferred but not required. Compensation is $120,000–$140,000 plus bonus, with benefits and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical engineering experience, preferably with battery energy storage systems (BESS).
• Proficiency with CAD software and electrical design standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for energy storage, hybrid power, and industrial systems.
• Develop schematics, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, grounding plans.
• Design and integrate AC/DC power distribution, batteries, converters, transformers, switchgear, and controls.
• Perform load, voltage drop, fault current, grounding, and protection studies.
• Support product development, manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and root-cause analysis.
• Lead design reviews, testing activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, customers, vendors, and field service teams.
• Mentor engineers and technicians through technical guidance and peer reviews.
