Job summary

Gillig is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer - ITS in Livermore, CA to lead hands-on design of electrical systems for heavy-duty transit buses. You will perform requirements analysis, concept and detailed design, BOM development, and supplier coordination to industrialize electrical systems.

The role focuses on systems and component-level optimization, including CANbus, infotainment, AVL/AVM, and cybersecurity considerations. On-site work in Livermore is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering; electrical preferred.
Minimum 5+ years progressive engineering experience.
Familiarity with automotive/heavy-duty vehicle design.
Experience with BOM, documentation control, and revision management.
Experience with harness design and formboard drawing creation.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) with proper parts and assemblies.
Provide input on modular BOM structures to improve configuration efficiency.
Gather information on supplier components and current designs.
Rationalize and optimize electrical design concepts.
Use ECAD tools to create, review, and release vehicle components and harnesses.
