Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in the United States, South Carolina. The role focuses on industrial power systems (120V to 15kV) and PLC control systems, leading design, calculations, and documentation.

You will collaborate with electrical designers and project teams, perform field reviews, and support growth of a satellite office for a large industrial operation. Strong NEC knowledge and software proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a focus in power systems.
• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in industrial power systems and power distribution.
• Strong proficiency in power system design and PLC control systems.
• Familiarity with NEC and NFPA standards relevant to electrical systems design.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design activities for industrial power systems.
• Prepare engineering calculations including short circuit, voltage drop, and cable sizing.
• Create specifications and drawing packages (one-line diagrams, panel schedules, lighting plans).
• Ensure designs comply with NEC and industry standards; review work of junior designers.
• Support field work, site installations, and condition checks against design documents.
• Use Revit, AutoCAD, and power system tools (ETAP/SKM) for modeling and analysis.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders and communicate design solutions clearly.
• Maintain project documentation and adhere to schedules.
• Travel to client sites as needed.
