Job summary

Blue Bridge People is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design power and control systems for large-scale material handling and automation projects. You will own the electrical design from concept through installation and commissioning, including power distribution, schematics, networks, drives, and safety systems.

The role requires living near an approved office or willingness to relocate, in-office work, and 20–30% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of electrical design experience in industrial automation.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN for schematics.
• Proficient with three-phase and single-phase power distribution and NEC.
• Ability to travel 20–30% and work in-office at approved locations.

Responsibilities

• Design three-phase and single-phase power distribution systems.
• Develop single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, panel schedules, control diagrams, device layouts, and wiring documentation.
• Design scalable electrical architectures for material handling and industrial automation systems.
• Specify and integrate variable frequency drives, motors, sensors, encoders, and field devices.
• Design industrial communication networks (EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET).
• Integrate machine-safety systems (emergency stops, light curtains, safety PLCs).
• Review drawings, vendor submittals, and contractor documentation.
• Conduct field installation audits for NEC compliance.
• Support commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with mechanical, controls, software, project management, construction, and site teams.
• Develop reusable electrical standards and templates.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
