Job summary

Iris Technology Corp in Irvine, CA seeks an Electrical Engineer IV to lead complex hardware development. You will design analog and high-speed digital circuits, oversee testing, and mentor engineers across product development cycles.

The role requires deep experience in power electronics, PCB design, system integration, and collaboration with mechanical, software, and procurement teams to bring products from concept to qualification.

Qualifications

• US Person under ITAR requirement.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 15+ years of experience, or equivalent experience aligned with the Electrical Engineer IV (Principal) level.
• Experience in Analog Circuit Design: DC power supplies, batteries/charging, AC inverters, data acquisition, motor drives, transistor control (GaNFET knowledge a plus).
• High speed digital circuit design: Microsemi ProAsic/RTAX knowledge a plus; microcontroller/microprocessor designs; communication interface design.
• CAD tools: Schematic capture and PCB layout (DxDesign preferred); analog circuit simulation (PSpice/OrCAD, LTspice preferred).
• In-depth knowledge of relevant tools and technologies.
• Systems integration and testing experience.
• Strong project management skills.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and software flowcharts.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Project and Access preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate electrical systems, products, and components by designing and conducting research programs.
• Confirm system capabilities by designing testing methods and testing properties.
• Develop electrical products by studying customer requirements and testing methods.
• Prepare for and present at design reviews and technical meetings with clients.
• Lead systems integration and testing activities.
• Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests.
• Design analog/digital circuits and select components.
• Coordinate with PCB fab and assembly vendors.
