Job summary

Jacobs in Florida is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design and deliver complex electrical systems for commercial, education, healthcare, industrial, and transportation projects. You will prepare load analyses, construction drawings, and energy compliance documentation while collaborating with architects and multidisciplinary teams.

Ideal candidates hold a Florida PE license with demonstrated experience in vertical building projects and a strong knowledge of NFPA/IEEE/ASHRAE standards,

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida.
• Demonstrated professional design experience with electrical systems for vertical building projects in Florida.
• Solid knowledge and application of NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, NFPA 101, NFPA 110, applicable building codes, energy codes, IEEE standards, ASHRAE standards, and related industry requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for a variety of building and infrastructure projects.
• Perform lighting design and associated controls calculations.
• Prepare electrical load analyses throughout various stages of design.
• Develop construction drawings and technical documentation.
• Prepare basis of design reports.
• Complete energy compliance calculations and supporting documentation.
• Select electrical equipment and fixtures based on project requirements.
• Coordinate designs with architects and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Engage directly with clients, owners, and contractors to establish design requirements.
• Support proposal, business development, and project delivery efforts as needed.
• Contribute to the successful execution of projects from concept through construction.
