Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida.
  • Demonstrated design experience with electrical systems for vertical building projects in Florida.
  • Solid knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, NFPA 101, NFPA 110, building codes, energy codes, IEEE standards, ASHRAE standards.

Your impact

At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by delivering innovative solutions for the built environment. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll help design and deliver complex electrical systems for commercial, education, healthcare, industrial, and transportation projects throughout Florida.

In this role, you'll apply your technical expertise to develop electrical designs, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and support successful project delivery for our clients. You'll work directly with clients, owners, and contractors to establish project requirements, develop innovative solutions, and produce high-quality construction documents that drive project success.

What you'll do

  • Design electrical systems for a variety of building and infrastructure projects
  • Perform lighting design and associated controls calculations
  • Prepare electrical load analyses throughout various stages of design
  • Develop construction drawings and technical documentation
  • Prepare basis of design reports
  • Complete energy compliance calculations and supporting documentation
  • Select electrical equipment and fixtures based on project requirements
  • Coordinate designs with architects and multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Engage directly with clients, owners, and contractors to establish design requirements
  • Support proposal, business development, and project delivery efforts as needed
  • Contribute to the successful execution of projects from concept through construction

Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida
  • Demonstrated professional design experience with electrical systems for vertical building projects in Florida
  • Solid knowledge and application of NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, NFPA 101, NFPA 110, applicable building codes, energy codes, IEEE standards, ASHRAE standards, and related industry requirements

Ideally, you'll also have

  • Extensive experience performing short circuit coordination studies and arc flash analyses using SKM or EasyPower
  • Working knowledge of MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM software
  • Experience designing telecommunications systems, fire alarm systems, or security systems

The base salary range for this position is $102,900.00 to $180,100.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
