Asplundh Engineering Services (AES) in Boonton, NJ, is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer with high‑voltage protection experience. You will lead or contribute to project teams across protection, control, and substation integration, delivering reliable power solutions while mentoring engineers.

The role combines design, on‑site support, and client liaison within a hybrid work model, requiring strong leadership and a focus on quality and safety in delivery.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of relay/protection engineering or related field.
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Proficiency with protection design software (ASPEN/SKM/EasyPower/ETAP).
• Hands-on programming with protection relays and substation equipment.
• Strong understanding of NERC requirements and protective relays.

Responsibilities

• Developing and reviewing protection & control settings designs.
• Performing coordination and short-circuit studies.
• Conducting event analysis for reliability and troubleshooting.
• Creating and reviewing RTU and HMI configurations.
• Leading engineering projects and mentoring junior staff.
• Providing field support and client-interface as Owner’s Engineer.
