Job summary

Progressive Design, Inc. in Midlothian, VA is seeking an Electrical Engineer (mid to senior) for a full-time/direct hire position in the Richmond, VA area. You will design electrical power, controls and instrumentation systems for heavy industrial projects and coordinate with project managers and clients.

The role requires 5+ years in heavy industrial environments, proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, and strong communication skills. A Virginia PE is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited program.
• 5+ years or relevant experience in heavy industrial field (10+ for senior).
• Virginia Professional Engineer preferred but not required.
• Experience with AutoCAD software.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Must be results oriented.
• Must be a team player.
• Must possess uncompromised commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical design duties on projects including power distribution, machine control design, and instrument/control design.
• Develop relationships with Project Managers, Engineers and Clients to deliver safe, compliant solutions.
• Develop Construction Cost Estimates.
• Create materials lists and obtain quotations for design components.
• Assist Engineers and Project Managers with schedules and specifications.
• Perform fieldwork and technical research.
• Maintain project design files and calculations.
• Certify accuracy and completeness of deliverables.
• Collaborate to allocate tasks within department resources.
• Maintain budget and schedule tracking on multiple projects.
