Progressive Design, Inc. is seeking an entrepreneurial Electric Designer for a full-time/direct hire role in the Midlothian, VA area.

The position entails electrical design for power distribution, machine control and instrumentation, with collaboration across PMs, engineers and clients to deliver safe and cost-effective solutions. The ideal candidate has AutoCAD experience, an associate degree or relevant certifications, and familiarity with hazardous locations and NEC/NFPA requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience performing electrical design in industrial settings.
• Familiarity with electrical components and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of grounding requirements for instrumentation and electrical equipment.

Responsabilités

• Perform electrical design duties for power distribution, machine control, and instrumentation.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers and Clients to develop safe, compliant, and cost-effective solutions.
• Translate standards into electrical power, control and instrumentation concepts through project documentation.
• Create materials lists and obtain quotations for design components.
• Conduct fieldwork and technical research.
• Support constructability reviews and understand field construction phases.
• Maintain and organize project design files and vendor documentation.
• Certify accuracy and completeness of deliverables in assigned areas.
