Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support FAA facilities, designing electrical systems and performing on-site surveys. The role involves creating sketches, wiring diagrams, and schematics, plus testing power systems and coordinating with engineers and contractors.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical or Power Engineering, 4+ years of experience, arc flash analysis, and proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Electrical or Power Engineering (or Master’s with 2+ years experience) required.
• 4+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience conducting and interpreting arc flash studies.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance and travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design electrical systems for FAA facilities.
• Conduct on-site surveys and produce scale reports and drawings.
• Create sketches, wiring diagrams, and schematics for installations.
• Analyze power systems and participate in construction inspections.
• Coordinate design and resolve issues with staff and contractors.
• Prepare construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and project documentation.
• Support risk management activities (IRMC, communication plans, risk registers).
• Oversee work permits for lead/asbestos impact.
• Participate in stakeholder meetings and coordinate electrical work with other trades.
• Manage cutovers, testing, restoration, and ongoing projects.
• Review design submittals and perform FAA design reviews.
• Provide clear, concise technical writing and stakeholder communication.
