Job summary

Astronics Corporation, Lake Zurich, IL, is seeking a Principal Staff Electrical Engineer to lead EMI/EMC qualification design and trouble-shooting. You will develop electrical architectures, PCBA-level design, BOM management, and drive hardware bring-up while mentoring engineers and coordinating with international team members as needed.

The role requires deep experience in high-speed digital design, RF/EMC, regulatory testing, and leadership in cross-functional programs.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering from an accredited program.
• 20 years of experience in electrical engineering or related field.
• ECAD experience for schematic capture and layout (Altium preferred).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design PCBA including BOM management, revision control, hardware bring-up/debug, and issue tracking.
• Develop electrical system architectures and high-speed, RF, and EMI-focused designs.
• Lead cross-functional programs and mentor engineers and interns.
• Support regulatory compliance testing and ISO/AS9100 processes.
• Provide direction to Ukraine engineers and CAD specialists.
