Job summary

HPM is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to serve as the Owner’s technical advocate across municipal, commercial, industrial, and institutional capital programs. You will drive design strategy, review EOR packages, manage interconnections, and supervise long‑lead equipment procurement from concept through commissioning.

You will oversee VE and life‑cycle cost analyses, coordinate with utilities, and ensure code compliance (NEC/NFPA 70).

Qualifications

B.S. in Electrical Engineering required.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
10–15+ years in industrial power, facility distribution or infrastructure consulting.
Strong knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70, utility interconnections, MCCs, emergency power systems, building controls.
Excellent technical writing and client presentation abilities.
Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

Design Oversight & EOR Peer Review: Review 30/60/90% electrical design packages from third-party EORs and assess design for code compliance and constructability.
Utility Infrastructure & Site Due Diligence: Coordinate with local electric providers to confirm service availability and lead times.
Long-Lead Procurement & Supply Chain Management: Identify long-lead equipment and oversee early purchase specifications to protect schedules.
Value Engineering & Life-Cycle Cost Analysis: Conduct VE evaluations balancing CAPEX with long-term operating costs.
Commissioning & Energization Oversight: Oversee third-party commissioning and energization activities, including relay calibration and arc flash verification.
Technical Escalation & Conflict Resolution: Act as neutral technical expert resolving design disputes among Owner, GC, and EOR.
