Job summary

EAPC in Sioux Falls is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, detail, and specify electrical systems for new buildings, additions, and renovations, working closely with architects, engineers, and clients.

The role requires 8+ years of experience, PE registration, and demonstrated project management and business development skills. You will mentor EIT staff and guide BIM Modelers on electrical drawings, within a collaborative, design-forward environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 8+ years in a firm or consulting environment preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration required.
• Project management and business development understanding.
• Experience with 3D modeling/visualization software (REVIT/SKM/AutoCAD) preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical design, detailing, and calculations for new and renovated buildings.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, structural disciplines.
• Edit and write electrical specifications.
• Perform feasibility studies and cost estimates as required.
• Provide mentorship to EIT staff.
• Direct BIM Modelers on electrical drawings as needed.
• Conduct construction administration activities, including RFI responses and site visits.
• Assist in development of budgets, scopes, and proposals.
