Job summary

EAPC is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team of architects, engineers, designers, and clients. The role focuses on electrical design across diverse projects, with collaboration among disciplines to ensure optimal performance.

The candidate should have a PE license, 8+ years of experience, and strong skills in REVIT/SKM/AutoCAD, along with effective communication and leadership abilities. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 8+ years experience in a firm or consulting environment preferred.
• Professional Engineer registration required.
• Strong project management and business development understanding.
• Experience with 3D modeling/visualization tools (REVIT, SKM, AutoCAD).
• Ability to communicate effectively with multiple disciplines and teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical design, detailing, and calculations for new buildings and renovations.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, and structural disciplines.
• Edit and write electrical specifications.
• Perform electrical investigations, feasibility studies, and cost estimates as needed.
• Provide mentorship to EIT-level staff and direct BIM Modelers.
• Oversee construction administration activities: review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, visit sites.
• Visit project sites to verify conditions and elevations.
• Assist in developing design budgets, schedules, and proposals.
• Participate in contract negotiations and development of engineering standards.

Job description

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a passion for design, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with our architects, engineers, and clients. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects.

At EAPC, our team of architects, engineers, interior designers, construction managers, and other professionals work together to create stunning structures and designs for optimum performance.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide electrical design, detailing, and calculations as required for all phases of the design of new buildings and structures as well as additions to and renovations of existing buildings and structures
• Coordinate electrical designs with other disciplines such as architectural, mechanical, structural, etc.
• Edit and write electrical specifications
• Perform electrical investigations and feasibility studies including the writing of reports and providing cost estimates when required
• Provide mentorship/training to EIT-level staff
• Provide direction to BIM Modelers as required to complete electrical drawings
• Perform construction administration activities such as the review of material shop drawings, responding to contractor RFIs and construction questions, construction site visits, etc.
• Perform site visits as required to field verify existing conditions, dimensions, elevations, etc.
• Assist project managers in the development of internal design budgets and schedules as required
• Assist the department manager in determining anticipated project scope, deliverables, fees, etc. as required to complete proposals to provide electrical engineering services to external clients
• Assist with and negotiate contracts with customers/clients
• Assist in the development of engineering standards, policies, and procedures

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• 8+ years experience in a firm or consulting environment preferred
• Registration as a Professional Engineer
• Project management and business development understanding
• Experience in 3D modeling, visualization, and modeling software; REVIT, SKM and AutoCAD strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of engineering systems
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and strong organizational skills
• Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and motivation to learn
• Collaborative and professional work ethic
• Ability to prioritize and concurrently service multiple projects
• Willingness to travel as required to meet project and corporate demands
• Ability to understand and communicate with professionals of other disciplines
• Valid driver's license
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship

The position will report directly to the Electrical Engineering Department Lead and will work as an integrated member of a multi-discipline, in-house team of engineers, architects, and drafting technicians.
