Job summary

AVT Simulation seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer in Orlando, FL to lead the design and integration of electrical systems for advanced training simulators.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, develop schematics, perform circuit analysis, and oversee hardware development while ensuring compliance with industry standards and quality practices. Travel to customer sites will be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering focusing on designing and developing electrical systems.
• Proficiency with electrical design software (Altium Designer, AutoCAD Electrical).
• Strong knowledge of digital/analog circuit design and power distribution.
• Familiarity with simulation software and VR tech is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Electrical system design: create schematics, circuit analysis, component selection, and standards compliance.
• System integration with mechanical, software, and hardware subsystems; perform validation.
• Translate user requirements into technical specs; conduct feasibility studies and trade-off analyses.
• Hardware development: design/oversee PCBs, wiring harnesses, power systems; coordinate with suppliers.
• Documentation: maintain schematics, diagrams, specs, test plans; report status and risks.
• Quality assurance: apply industry standards and robust QC for reliability/safety.
• Troubleshooting/maintenance: resolve issues during development and testing; support deployments.
• Leadership: mentor junior engineers and promote collaborative, innovative work.
• Installation/travel: travel to customer sites to construct, test, deliver simulators, and train users.
