Job summary

Relativity Space is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer in the Interplanetary Sciences Program to own next-gen spacecraft electronics, compute modules, storage, and networking. You’ll interface with the science team to maximize capability while meeting power, thermal, EMI, and reliability constraints, and work with software to ensure robust full-system operation.

The role demands leadership in hardware development, rapid prototyping, and hands-on testing within a fast-paced program driving

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years designing high performance digital electronics.
• Proven experience leading design, bringup, and validation of sophisticated board level electronics.
• Hands-on work with challenging thermal and electromechanical environments.
• Excellent technical communication, problem-solving, and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and qualify high-performance spacecraft electronics (compute, storage, networking).
• Balance capability with power, thermal, EMI, mechanical, and reliability constraints.
• Lead hardware campaigns to derisk interfaces and validate performance before flight readiness.
• Collaborate with software and science teams to ensure full-system integration across environments.
