Job summary

Relativity Space is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer in the Interplanetary Sciences Program to own the next generation of deep space compute and storage, leveraging terrestrial tech while challenging onboard system limits.

You will design, build, and qualify high‑performance spacecraft electronics, balancing CPU/GPU/storage with power, thermal, EMI, and reliability constraints, and partner with software to ensure end‑to‑end functionality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years designing and delivering high performance digital electronics.
• Proven experience leading design, bring-up, and validation of sophisticated board level electronics.
• Hands-on work with challenging thermal and electromechanical environments.
• Excellent technical communication, problem-solving, and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the next generation of deep space compute and storage capability within the Interplanetary Sciences Program.
• Design, build, and qualify high performance spacecraft electronics across compute modules, network switches, storage nodes, and communications terminals.
• Lead hands-on development campaigns to evaluate technologies, de-risk interfaces, and validate performance before flight readiness.
• Work with software teams to ensure core software infrastructure on spacecraft and ground side operates as intended.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to turn concepts into hardware while balancing agility and rigor.
