Job summary

Iron Mountain is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical engineering across our regional and global Data Center Design and Construction teams. You will serve as the senior technical reviewer for complex, high-risk electrical systems, assuring technical quality, resolving discipline risks, and raising global discipline standards through leadership and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Typically 10+ years of relevant experience in data center, mission-critical, or major technical capital programs.
• In-depth knowledge of critical power systems, power-system studies, protective relay coordination, codes/standards, utility interconnections, and commissioning requirements.
• Proven ability to balance power architecture, electrical resilience, capital costs, efficiency, and schedule risks.
• Credible negotiation and communication skills to influence consultants, manufacturers, and cross-functional leadership without direct authority.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical strategy, design criteria, assurance plans, and review gates for major data center builds and upgrades.
• Review consultant designs, calculations, specifications, and submittals; develop and maintain global standard designs and Basis of Design documents.
• Analyze power and utility systems, including HV/MV/LV distribution, standby generation, UPS, batteries, grounding, and power quality.
• Partner with Supply Chain to establish product strategies and evaluate OFCI equipment; lead root-cause investigations to improve global standards.
• Collaborate across Design Management, Construction, Commissioning, Operations, and Solutions Engineering, while mentoring less experienced engineers.
