Job summary

Iron Mountain is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical engineering across our regional and global Data Center Design and Construction teams.

You will act as the senior technical reviewer for complex electrical systems, establishing scalable engineering standards and guiding strategy from concept through commissioning. This role requires 10+ years of relevant experience and travel up to 25% internationally and domestically.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering for data center, mission-critical, or major capital programs.
• Professional Engineer/Chartered Engineer license preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering across regional and global Data Center Design and Construction teams.
• Serve as senior technical reviewer for complex, high-risk electrical systems; ensure technical quality and risk mitigation.
• Establish scalable engineering standards and govern deviations from Basis of Design (BOD).
• Guide electrical strategy, design criteria, assurance plans, and review gates from concept to commissioning.
• Develop and maintain global standard designs and govern discipline interfaces.
• Evaluate utility interconnections, HV/MV/LV distribution, standby generation, UPS, battery storage, grounding, and power-quality performance.
• Partner with Supply Chain on OFCI equipment strategies and perform root-cause investigations to feed lessons learned into standards.
• Mentor and peer-review engineers across Design Management, Construction, Commissioning, Operations, and Solutions Engineering.
• Ability to travel up to 25% and work across multiple regions to support major data center builds.

University degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
