Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design and continuous improvement of data center infrastructure. You will tackle high-impact, global projects and mentor others while ensuring scalable, reliable systems.

Join a diverse team of engineers and supply chain specialists; work across regions, set engineering direction, and ensure compliance with UL/CE/IEC codes. Domestic and international travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities (data centers, power generation, etc.).
• Experience in design of data center electrical systems and mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Support Data Center Design Engineering, Principal Engineering, and Hardware Engineering teams to design and develop electrical concepts for mechanical cooling products in AWS data centers.
• Lead the electrical aspect of new product design and development for mechanical cooling equipment (motor controls, VFDs, power distribution panels, wiring, instrumentation).
• Collaborate with mechanical, structural, controls/automation, reliability, QA/QC, and compliance teams to create well-designed products.
• Design and specify electrical systems for rotating equipment including fans, pumps, and compressors with proper sizing and protection schemes.
• Prepare, review, and approve electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and BOMs.
