Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Seattle, WA is seeking a Senior Data Center Infrastructure Electrical Engineer to lead the design, architecture, and continuous improvement of electrical systems for data center infrastructure.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams across AWS to ensure reliability, safety, and cost efficiency, setting standards for engineering excellence and coordinating with global suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience.
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for data center cooling equipment.
• Lead electrical aspects of new product design, including motor controls and power distribution.
• Collaborate with mechanical, structural, controls/automation, reliability, QA/QC, and compliance teams.
• Design and specify electrical systems for rotating equipment including fans, pumps, and compressors.
• Create designs meeting quality requirements with ROI.
• Work with global suppliers to specify components and BOMs for AHUs, skids, and ADACs.
• Ensure compliance with UL, CE, IEC, NEC/NFPA 70 and other standards.
• Prepare, review, and approve product design drawings including schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Define project scope and provide technical support during manufacturing phases.
• Coordinate with field engineering and commissioning to validate installation and performance.
• Develop and review control logic, interlocks, and safety circuits for AHU, skid, chillers and ADAC assemblies.
• Travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
