Job summary

Vertiv Corporation is seeking an Electrical Engineer to contribute to the release of best-in-class Chiller and CW Systems products. You will work in a cross-functional development group, managing tasks in a dynamic environment and solving complex problems where no precedence exists.

You will provide direct support to manufacturing teams, analyze issues, report findings to electrical engineering, and support implementation of solutions.

Qualifications

• BSEE or related degree from an accredited college or university.
• 3+ years in new product development as an individual contributor.
• Familiar with HVAC design or an industrial design of a similar nature.
• Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment independently and as part of a dynamic team; offer and receive constructive criticism.
• Demonstrated history of delivering quality products to market with understanding of product development phases.
• Excellent project management and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Proficient in 3D CAD software, CREO 4.0+ preferred.
• Knowledge of NEC (NFPA70), IEEE 519, UL 508A SB, UL60335-2-40, or CSA/UL standards.
• VFD programming and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with RS485, CAN, and Ethernet standards/protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design next generation Chiller and computer room cooling products for air and liquid cooling systems.
• Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, process engineering, and production teams.
• Engage in design reviews, meet cost metrics, and address customer pain points.
• Perform engineering calculations to verify design requirements.
• Develop solutions to complex problems with ingenuity.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities and implement changes.
• Support manufacturing with prototypes, testing, sustaining, and cost reduction activities.
• Support lab facilities with prototypes and testing.
• Create/ revise unit wiring schematics and network drawings.
• Create/review electric panel layouts following codes and standards.
• Support product controls software development and verification.
