Job summary

KINGS III in Coppell, TX seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to own hardware design for emergency communication devices, sustaining current products while guiding the transition to a connected/digital platform.

You will drive schematic capture, PCB layout, cellular hardwareCertification, power architecture, and firmware for next-generation devices, partnering with cloud teams to define device-to-cloud data protocols and secure firmware signing.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in electrical/embedded hardware design.
• Schematic capture and PCB design from concept through production.
• Solid C/C++ firmware development for microcontrollers (ARM Cortex-M or similar).
• Experience with cellular modules and IoT connectivity protocols.
• Debugging with JTAG/SWD, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers; strong lab bring-up skills.
• Familiarity with UL/FCC, PTCRB, and FirstNet certification processes.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical and firmware design across the product line from legacy phones to next-generation digital hardware.
• Drive schematic capture, PCB layout, and hardware bring-up for old and new hardware revisions.
• Lead cellular hardware design to meet certification requirements from the outset of new architectures.
• Design power architecture including battery backup and low-power modes.
• Lead firmware architecture for connected devices and device-to-cloud data protocols.
• Build remote diagnostics, fleet health monitoring, and secure firmware signing.
