Job summary

Burns & McDonnell's Aviation & Federal global practice seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to deliver power, lighting, grounding, lightning protection, and low-voltage designs for airports, military facilities, hangars, and government projects.

You will lead design teams, coordinate with architects and other disciplines, and mentor junior staff while ensuring compliance with NEC, NFPA, UFC, and relevant standards. Travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master’s degree ABET-accredited and 7+ years electrical engineering experience.
PE license strongly preferred.
Experience with NEC, ANSI, IEEE standards.
Strong communication and team leadership abilities.
Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

Lead design of building electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and low-voltage.
Serve as technical expert on airport, federal, and defense projects ensuring compliance.
Coordinate with architects and mechanical engineers for integrated design.
Prepare calculations, drawings, specs, and construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD.
Mentor junior engineers and support construction-phase services.
Perform site investigations and field verifications.
