Job DescriptionSenior Electrical Engineer - Wilkes Barre, PA

Our client is a leading Engineering Design and Commissioning Company specializing in MEP critical facilities. This role involves acting as a senior electrical engineer, designing critical power systems for new and existing data centers. The ideal candidate will have experience designing electrical systems for large data centers, including electrical power systems, power distribution, generators, UPS systems, PDUs, and switchgear. Proficiency in AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP for developing electrical models and documents is required. You will lead design efforts and coordinate with trades and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage projects, create designs, gather specifications, and execute assignments in electrical engineering for data center projects.
2. Develop conceptual designs based on client meetings.
3. Respond to RFPs, review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs.
4. Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and standards, and communicate them clearly.
5. Represent the company in project meetings.
6. Collaborate with design staff and oversee full-cycle electrical design activities.
7. Work closely with the Project Management Team on construction documents, specifications, and construction administration.
8. Lead design teams and manage complex projects.
9. Perform electrical design tasks, including distribution systems, equipment layouts, and selection/sizing.
10. Use AutoCAD and Revit for drawings.
11. Review or prepare specifications and sequences of operations.
12. Assist in proposal development, including scope, schedule, and budget.
13. Manage project design teams, resource forecasting, and coordination.
14. Identify scope changes and develop strategies to control costs and deadlines.
15. Build long-term client relationships.
16. Coordinate interns and technical staff as needed.
17. Conduct field surveys, observations, and prepare reports.
18. Gather data for construction documents.
19. Prepare and review design and construction documents.
20. Manage project closeout and reporting.
21. Maintain shop drawing and RFI logs.

Qualifications:

1. 8-15 years of experience.
2. Experience in MEP or A/E firms.
3. Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or similar.
4. PE/EIT license a plus.
5. Experience with data center and mission-critical electrical systems.
6. Knowledge of building electrical systems, codes, and standards.
7. Proficiency in design software, including short circuit, arc flash, equipment sizing, and lighting calculations.
8. Experience with Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, BIM is desirable.
9. Extensive experience with electrical power systems and equipment.
10. Familiarity with complex data center projects.
11. Software skills: MS Office, SKM Powertools, EDSA, ETAP.
12. Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
13. Military/veteran experience in electrical/mechanical fields is a plus.
