Job summary

Fresh Consulting is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our onsite team in Sunnyvale, CA. You will perform system-level electrical measurements, debug in the lab, and drive design validation across boards and prototypes.

The role requires hands-on experience with high-density boards, SoC/sensors, and embedded software basics. You will collaborate with engineers and technicians in a fast-paced environment, contribute to NPI efforts, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required.
• Experience in high-density board design and system integration.
• Hands-on lab skills and rapid prototyping.
• Ability to drive projects through ambiguity and multiple paths.
• Experience with SoC, sensors, wireless, USB, MIPI, PCIe, SPI, I2C.
• Embedded software basics; ability to read logs/code.

Responsibilities

• Perform system-level electrical measurements across power rails, regulators, batteries, charging paths, and load behavior.
• Lab debugging with oscilloscopes, power meters, DMMs, and logic analyzers.
• Conduct failure analysis of electrical issues including component failures and battery degradation.
• Review PCB layouts, schematics, and designs; flag errors and suggest improvements.
• Review and approve prototypes, working models, or simulations.
• Write detailed specifications, test procedures, and design tradeoff documentation.
• Support NPI/manufacturing validation and cross-functional coordination.
• Direct technicians and engineering staff as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety/regulatory standards (EMC).

Title: Senior Electrical Engineer
Location: Onsite In Sunnyvale, CA

Hours: Minimum 40 Hours/Week

Responsibilities

• Perform system-level electrical measurements and analysis across power rails, regulators, batteries, charging paths, and load behavior.
• Execute lab debugging and troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, power meters, DMMs, logic analyzers, and similar instrumentation.
• Conduct failure analysis of electrical issues including component failures, battery degradation, charging anomalies, and system-level faults.
• Review and evaluate PCB layouts, schematics, and designs — flag errors and suggest improvements.
• Review and approve product prototypes, working models, or simulation-based models.
• Write detailed functional specifications, test procedures, and design tradeoff documentation.
• Support new technology introduction and NPI/manufacturing validation efforts.
• Direct technicians, engineering designers, or other technical support personnel as needed.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety and regulatory standards (e.g., EMC) and support certification activities.
• Candidates will be evaluated based on deliverables in hardware validation, prototype builds, documentation quality, and cross-functional communication.

• Good EE fundamentals.
• High-density rigid/flex board design and system integration experience.
• Hands-on lab skills. Rapid prototyping with what’s available. Can-do attitude.
• Ability to drive projects with high ambiguity, multiple paths, and fuzzy future to clarity.
• Understanding of core tech areas such as SoC, sensor, wireless, audio, display, and interfaces (USB, MIPI, PCIe, SPI, I2C). Capable of designing, bringing up, and evaluating projects in those areas.
• Embedded software basics. Comfortable looking into software logs/code.
• Use automation to help the team improve project quality and scale to more projects.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capability, with the ability to influence without authority.

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or related engineering field) required.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Range $75/hr - $85/hr.
