Job summary

Cleaveland/Price in Trafford, PA is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Electronic Design group. You will provide hardware solutions across the full product lifecycle, developing analog and digital circuitry, designing PCBs, and creating test systems for manufacturing.

The position targets senior engineers with 10+ years of experience, an ABET‑accredited Electrical Engineering degree, and proficiency with Altium, circuit simulation software, and three‑phase power systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited program.
  • Experience with analog and digital circuit design.
  • Experience with circuit design and layout software, such as Altium.
  • Experience with circuit simulation software.
  • Knowledge of PCBA manufacturing process.
  • Knowledge of three-phase power systems preferred.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Cleaveland/Price in the US.
  • This position is available at two different career levels depending on experience, education, etc.
  • Senior: Typically requires 10+ years of experience
  • MS degree may be substituted for up to two years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, simulate, prototype, and test analog and digital circuitry
  • Design printed circuit board using best practices and works with contract manufacturer to ensure manufacturability
  • Work with mechanical designers or engineers to development packaging solutions and create drawings to include relevant mechanical assembly details
  • Utilize standard electronics laboratory equipment to test and troubleshoot new and existing designs
  • Work with external laboratories to complete regulatory compliance testing
  • Support development collaboration, support design reviews, and follow internal engineering control processes
  • Investigate of technical problems and the creation of procedures, processes, and corrective actions to avoid recurrences
  • Provide guidance to less experienced engineers and facilitate training as needed
  • Complete other tasks as assigned

About Us

Cleaveland/Price specializes in the design and manufacture of high voltage disconnect switches and switch automation products. The products that we offer are unique in design, and some include patented features. Products have been developed and tested in accordance with IEEE, ANSI, and NEMA standards for high voltage equipment. They are primarily used by investor-owned and public electric utilities and large industrial operations in substation, distribution, transmission, and generation applications.

All company operations take place in a modern 218,300 sq. ft. multi-site facility situated on 20 acres east of Trafford, PA. The facility houses virtually all resources for product realization, including engineering, supply chain, parts fabrication, electro-mechanical assembly, and testing. Fabrication capabilities include laser and plasma cutting, CNC machining, CNC punching, and automated bending and forming. The company also utilizes specialized processes, such as MIG and TIG welding, friction welding, silver and tin electroplating, and silver brazing.

Your Goal

As a member of the Electronic Design group, you will be responsible for providing hardware-based solutions for electronic products covering the complete product lifecycle. This will include working on new product offerings, identifying and correcting design issues in existing products, finding solutions for part obsolescence, or creating test systems for the manufacturing process.

Physical Requirements
