Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing construction documents for electrical systems.
• Design and engineering for Healthcare, Commercial, Educational, and Industrial facilities.
• Familiarity with applicable codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical systems selection, design, and engineering for various facilities.
• Conduct field inspections to assess conditions and feasibility of additions/new installations.
• Perform feasibility, energy, and conditional assessments.
• Carry out power, voltage drop, short circuit, and lighting calculations.
• Design power distribution systems including incoming service, transformers, switch gear, panel boards, and wiring.
• Design emergency power distribution systems including generators and ATS.
• Design UPS systems and associated controls.
• Design lighting systems and control schemes with diagrams and sequences of operations.
• Design fire alarm systems.
• Design special systems (telephone, data, PA, nurse call, etc.).
• Perform code analysis based on federal, state, and local codes.
• Prepare CSI Master specifications for projects.
• Conduct electrical studies such as Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination.
• Provide construction administration support including shop drawings review, RFIs, punch-lists, and meetings.
• Preferably a Professional Engineer or EIT for future growth.

Job description

This position requires the applicant to have sufficient experience in the preparation of building electrical systems construction documents including, but not limited to the following:

• Provide Electrical systems selection and design and engineering for Healthcare, Commercial, Educational, and Industrial facilities.
• Conducts field inspections to determine existing conditions and feasibility of additions/new installations.
• Perform and prepare feasibility studies, energy studies, and conditional assessments.
• Perform power, voltage drop, short circuit, and lighting calculations,
• Design of power distribution systems (incoming service, transformers, switch gear, panel boards, wiring systems, end devices etc.)
• Design of emergency power distribution systems (incoming generators, automatic transfer switches, panel boards, wiring systems, end devices etc.)
• Design of UPS Systems
• Design of lighting systems and associated control systems, including system control diagrams, point lists, and sequence of operations.
• Design of Fire Alarm Systems
• Design of special systems such as telephone, data, public address, nurse call, etc.
• Perform code analysis based on federal, state, and local codes.
• Prepare CSI Master specifications for projects.
• Electrical studies such as Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination
• Provide construction administration (CA) support which includes but is not limited to reviewing shop drawings, answering requests for information, performing punch-lists and running/participating in construction meetings.
• Preferably a Professional Engineer or EIT who can be promoted into future growth.
