Senior Electrical Engineer
Location: Inglewood, CA
Compensation: $120,000 - $160,000 Base Salary

Position Summary
Seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead hardware development for next-generation access control and security products. This role owns the full product lifecycle from schematic design and PCB layout through prototyping, verification, manufacturing support, and production release. The position works closely with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable, high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end hardware development including schematic capture, multi-layer PCB design (up to 12+ layers), prototyping, testing, and production release.
- Design and maintain hardware using Altium Designer, including component libraries, PCB layout, routing, and design reviews.
- Develop power systems including DC/DC converters, PoE+, battery charging, surge protection, and power management circuits.
- Design and integrate interfaces such as Ethernet, USB, RS-485, LoRa, and audio/video systems.
- Support System-on-Module (SOM) platforms and peripherals including displays, antennas, power supplies, batteries, and thermal solutions.
- Collaborate with embedded software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams throughout product development.
- Support vendor selection, component evaluation, and design improvements focused on reliability and manufacturability.
- Develop automated test fixtures and support production ramp-up, yield improvement, and troubleshooting.
- Drive EMC/ESD compliance efforts and maintain engineering documentation, SOPs, schematics, and change records.
- Provide hands-on manufacturing support and root-cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, DMAIC, etc.).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of electrical engineering experience in hardware design and product development.
- Advanced experience with Altium Designer and multi-layer PCB design.
- Strong analog and digital circuit design skills.
- Experience with power conversion, battery charging, and motor control circuits.
- Knowledge of EMC/ESD principles, IPC standards, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
- Experience with Ethernet, USB, RS-485, and similar communication protocols.
- Proven ability to take products from concept through production release.
- Strong vendor management, cross-functional collaboration, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience applying structured problem-solving and root-cause corrective actions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing automated PCBA test fixtures.
- Familiarity with sensor integration, embedded systems, RF circuits, or laser control.
- Additional coursework or certifications in Embedded Systems or RF Design.
