Job summary

The Mission Essential Group, LLC (MEG) in Fairfax, VA seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer with TS/SCI eligibility to support IBS broadcast and communications systems. Location is Fairfax, VA with responsibilities spanning design, integration, testing, and sustainment of mission-critical information management systems.

The ideal candidate has 8–10 years’ experience in electrical/broadcast systems, strong communication skills, and a TS clearance with SCI eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
• 8–10 years of experience in electrical engineering, broadcast engineering, systems integration, or related field.
• Experience designing and supporting complex electronic or broadcast systems.
• Security Clearance: TS with SCI eligibility.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review specifications, drawings, and design docs to assess impacts and integration needs.
• Support design, development, integration, testing, and sustainment of IBS broadcast and communications systems.
• Prepare analyses, technical reports, and contract deliverables.
• Develop system-level and subsystem-level requirements.
• Conduct electrical and systems engineering assessments for comms and broadcast architectures.
• Perform risk assessments and mitigation for hardware, software, and infrastructure.
• Support integration, verification, validation, and operational testing.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Analyze system performance data and propose modernization efforts.
• Support RF optimization, log-analysis automation, and system uptime improvements.
• Prepare engineering documentation, ECPs, procedures, and user guides.
• Collaborate with software, network, cybersecurity, and mission-support teams.
• Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and DoD standards.
• Support deployment, transition, and sustainment across IBS Enterprise.

The Sr Electrical Engineer duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Review technical specifications, engineering drawings, architecture products, and design documentation to assess system impacts and integration requirements.
• Support the design, development, integration, testing, and sustainment of IBS broadcast and communications systems.
• Develop engineering analyses, technical reports, recommendations, and contract deliverables.
• Develop, document, and decompose system-level and subsystem-level requirements.
• Conduct electrical and systems engineering assessments for communications, broadcast, and interface architectures.
• Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for hardware, software, and supporting infrastructure.
• Support system integration, verification, validation, and operational testing activities.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and develop effective corrective actions.
• Analyze system performance data and develop technical recommendations for modernization and enhancement efforts.
• Support cross-functional initiatives such as RF suite optimization, automation of log analysis, and system uptime improvements.
• Prepare technical documentation, engineering change proposals, operational procedures, and user guides.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams supporting software development, network engineering, cybersecurity, and operational mission support.
• Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, broadcast architectures, communications protocols, and DoD engineering standards.
• Support deployment, transition, and sustainment activities across IBS Enterprise.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited engineering program.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in electrical engineering, broadcast engineering, systems integration, or a related field.
• Experience designing and supporting complex electronic or broadcast systems.
• Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills
• Demonstrated time management and organization skills working independently to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
• Security Clearance: TS with SCI eligibility
